Local asbestos contractor assessed penalty for violations
      The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection assessed the Westminster based, A & E Environmental, Inc., a $20,312.50 penalty for failing to follow asbestos removal procedures required by state regulations.

Police get grant for booster seats
      The Westminster Police Department received a $5,000 grant to help residents compile with the new state laws governing child safety seats. Westminster police will use the grant primarily to purchase child safety seats. They were able to buy 85 booster seats for children between 4-and 8-yearsold, which they began to distribute to children and parents last week.

Wound care center to open at Heywood this week
      Heywood Hospital opened The Center for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine at Heywood Hospital this month. The center located at the main campus of the hospital, the program specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds, a growing problem spurred by an aging population.

Ramsey Rehab expands into Devens
      Ramsey Rehab continues to expand its presence in North Central Massachusetts by opening its third location at 94 Jackson Road in Devens. Ramsey Rehab, which already has offices in Fitchburg and Leominster, plans to be operational by the last week in September.
