Italian Book Club discusses 'Gomorrah' Sept. 17
      The Center for Italian Culture's Italian Book Club will meet and discuss the book "Gomorrah" next month at Fitchburg State College. The discussion, facilitated by Professor Teresa Fava Thomas, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the Center for Italian Culture Room on the fourth floor of the Amelia V. Salvation Army offers college students a way to save money
      The Salvation Army Thrift Stores throughout Central Massachusetts and Metrowest are offering college students a way to save money as they begin the fall semester. Any college student showing the Thrift Store cashier a college I.D. or a letter indicating they will be attending any school will be given five dollars off a $20 or greater purchase.

Penn. family creates FSC scholarship
      Five brothers from Pennsylvania have teamed up to honor their mother with a gift to Fitchburg State College. The Bentley family — Gregory, Barry, Keith, Scott and Raymond — has donated $125,000 in memory of Arlene Bentley, a 1952 graduate of the then Fitchburg Teachers College who died in August 2006.
