Joining the first day jitters

Just after 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, Patti Mitchell stood in front of straight lines of desks, each piled with two folders, a math workbook and a package of math supplies and said she didn't sleep at all the night before. It was not Mitchell's first, first day of school. It was not even her 21st day. Mitchell started her 39th year of teaching on Tuesday.
