To the Editor: The American Red Cross Blood Services - Massachusetts Region is currently facing an urgent blood shortage that has caused it to cut blood shipments to local hospitals, and it is encouraging eligible donors to give blood during the Labor Day holiday period to ensure that blood is available for hospitals and patients.
