Westminster Council on Aging events
      The Westminster Senior Center is open Monday through Friday 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m. and is located in the American Legion Hall, 127 Main St. For more information, call Susan Fisher at (978) 874- 7402. M.O.C. meals are delivered daily. To reserve a meal, those interested must call (800) 286-3441, before 11 a.m. the day before.

Friendship Association to meet
      The American Friendship Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at St. Joseph's Church Hall, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. New members welcome; dues are $5 a year. Meetings, held the second Monday of the month (except July and August), feature bingo, socializing, and information on trips available.

DiNatale hosts summit on winter safety
      Rep. Stephen DiNatale (D-Fitchburg) is hosting a "senior summit" on Sept. 18 at 10 a.m. to give information about how to get help and stay safe during the upcoming winter. Golden Age Club meets Sept. 9
      The next meeting of the Golden Age Club of the Fitchburg Senior Center will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The club will be having a penny sale starting at 10 a.m. The public is welcome to come and shop. There will be many items for sale at low prices. If you are interested in joining the club, this would be a great day to come and see what it's all about.

Locals create holiday cheer using State House icon
A Westminster resident, two Fitchburg residents win awards at annual card contest
      Three members of the Circle of Artists, a group of artists that meets three times a week at the Westminster Senior Center, have earned honors as part of the seniors' holiday card contest. Fitchburg residents Ann Howe and Elaine Page, as well as Westminster resident Virginia Krul, will each receive a certificate for their winning submissions to the 12th annual contest.
