      The Westminster Senior Center is open Monday through Friday 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m. and is located in the American Legion Hall, 127 Main St. For more information, call Susan Fisher at (978) 874- 7402.       The American Friendship Association will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at St. Joseph's Church Hall, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg. New members welcome; dues are $5 a year. Meetings, held the second Monday of the month (except July and August), feature bingo, socializing, and information on trips available.

A Westminster resident, two Fitchburg residents win awards at annual card contest

      Three members of the Circle of Artists, a group of artists that meets three times a week at the Westminster Senior Center, have earned honors as part of the seniors' holiday card contest. Fitchburg residents Ann Howe and Elaine Page, as well as Westminster resident Virginia Krul, will each receive a certificate for their winning submissions to the 12th annual contest.
