Garden Club to visit Hartman Herb Farm
      The Westminster Garden Club will be visiting Hartman Herb Farm, located at 1026 Old Dana Road, Barre, on Saturday, Sept. 13. A guided tour will be conducted at 10 a.m. Carpool arrangements will be available. Selectmen to hold second part of hearing on Business Park
      The Board of Selectmen has continued the hearing on the application of Westminster Business Park to amend its earth removal permit on property located off Bartherick Road to Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Selectmen's Chambers at Town Hall. The Board will consider the applicant's request to eliminate the requirement to hire a police detail during operating hours.

      Ready Set Crop, a scrapbooking event, will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at First Congregational Church, 138 Main St., Westminster.

Historical Society extends contest deadline
      The deadline for the Westminster Historical Society Photo Contest is October 31. The society's goal is to produce a series of postcards of the town, and the members are looking for photos of places in Westminster appropriate to be featured on a postcard. The winners will be announced in November.

Geikie appointed to BC post
      Glendon M. Geikie, a licensed independent clinical social worker of Westminster, was appointed as a parttime faculty member of the Boston College School of Social Work. Geikie maintains a private psychotherapy practice with offices at Westminster Counseling and Wellness in Westminster.

A Saturday with the Congregational Church
     (Clockwise starting far left) Westminster Police Officers Rich Michel and Jason Tamulen demonstrate how the department uses its' K-9 for Police operations. The pair held several demonstrations during the day for those who attended the Annual Yankee Street Fair in Westminster on Saturday, Aug. 26. Michel conducted demonstrations of how he uses his partner, Caesar and after the demonstrations, Barry Smith and his children, Keller, 4, and Brady, 6, along with Sophia Koskinen, 6 and Katie Collison, 8 had the chance to meet Caesar.
