The construction on Main Street this week is the first step in the Ashburnham Municipal Light Department's plan to bring all of the electrical and telephone wires in the center of town underground. Construction workers have been installing the conduits this week and Light Department manager Stan Harriott hopes to have all of light department's wires underground by the spring.
