Students help Gardner school

Monty Tech's masonry crew braved the cold and wind recently to erect a sign outside the Helen Mae Sauter School in Gardner. On hand for the event and to thank the crew were Cherie McComb (far right), principal at the school; Jennifer Haggerty (far left), kindergarten teacher at Waterford Street School in Gardner, and students from Sauter and Waterford Street schools. They are (front row from left) Eoin Haggerty, Emily Schafron, Isabel Thomas, Elizabeth Whiting, Philobatir Farg and Joseph Mackowiak, (back row) Spencer Pollier of Hubbardston, William Albert of Gardner, Camden Stacey of Barre, Joshua Paradis of Ashburnham and Matt Camerano of Sterling, and teacher Cordell Balls. The project was a team effort involving the cabinetmaking program students who built the sign, auto body program students who did the lettering and masonry students who poured the posts and did the installation.
