Theresa E. Marien, 86
Was longtime Westminster resident

STERLING - Theresa E. Marien, 86, formerly of Worcester Road and 360 Electric Ave., Fitchburg, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, in the Sterling Heathcare Center after a long illness.

Theresa was born on June 2, 1921, in Fitchburg, the daughter of the late Joseph and Melvina (Schwab) Lanouette.

She had lived in Westminster for over 60 years, and was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church. Theresa was a member of the Republican Town Committee. She attended Fitchburg schools and earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in history from Fitchburg State College in 1983.

Theresa is survived by her two sons, Thomas Marien and Kenneth Marien both of Westminster; seven grandchildren, Paul Marien of Milford, Bonnie Garay of Gardner, Kendra Marien of Gardner, Jonathan Marien of Rutland, Lisa Marien of Grand Isle, Vt., Sarah Carrier of Croton, N.Y., and Michael Marien of Hartford, Conn., three greatgrandchildren, Allison Marien and Patrick Marien both of Milford and Benjamin Marien of Rutland; two sisters, Dorothy Oja of Everett, Pa. and Olive Bolduc of Westminster; and several nieces and nephews. She was the wife of the late George R. Marien who died in 1975. Her son, Joseph Marien, died in 2005.

The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes directed arrangements.
