Harold D. Doss, 60
Was avid outdoorsman; devoted sports fan

OAKHAM - Harold Dwayne Doss, 60, of Oakham, formerly of Westminster, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in his home after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Madison, W.Va., the son of the late Harold and Jane Doss. He graduated from Dublin High School in Ohio in 1965.

Mr. Doss recently retired from the United States Postal Service after 23 years as a letter carrier in Lunenburg. He also retired from the U.S. Army where he served as a Military Police Officer in Korea.

He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping. He was a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, the New England Patriots, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed his weekend getaways to Foxwoods with his wife.

Mr. Doss leaves his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara (Robichaud) Doss; a son, J.R. Doss and his long-time girlfriend, Susan Melendez of Fitchburg; a daughter, Holly and her husband, Thomas Dube of Oakham with whom he and Barbara lived; two granddaughters, Allyson and Samantha Dube, both of Oakham whom he cherished dearly; a brother, John Doss and his wife, Connie of Ohio; two sisters, Launa and her husband, Mark Baldwin and Jennifer Doss, all of Kentucky. He also leaves his extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Jane Doss; a brother, Mark Doss, and his in-laws, Roland and Exilda Robichaud.
