Lady Spartans have a split week

Last week in basketball action, the Lady Spartans dropped a close game to Lunenburg 64-57 on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Oakmont had the lead at halftime, but couldn't hold against a tough Lunenburg squad. Colleen Doherty had 19 points and Sally Leger tossed in 14 points.

On Friday, Jan. 11, the Lady Spartans traveled to Naragansett. After coming out a bit flat, Oakmont fought back, led by the defensive efforts of Kelly Dunn, who recorded eight steals in the game. In the second half, the Lady Spartans held on and recorded a victory.

Emily Boucher had an amazing offensive night, hitting on five 3-point shots and scoring 20 points for the game. Marisa Dunn chipped in with nine points.
