Seventh Community Benefit Hockey Game scheduled

The organizers have announced the Seventh Annual Ashburnham-Westminster Community Benefit Hockey Game will be held on Saturday, March 29, at the Iorio Arena, on the campus of Cushing Academy in Ashburnham.

This year's game will benefit the family of Rachel Lee, a fourth grader at John R. Briggs Elementary School. Rachel was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The goal of the Benefit Committee members is to raise enough money to offset the cost of Rachel's treatments. Money is raised by the sale of game tickets, raffle tickets, cash donations, and a Chinese auction the night of the game.

The organizers are anticipating appearances by Twister, Coach Dave Smith and some players from the Worcester Tornadoes as well as Finz from the Worcester Sharks. Other activities will include Chuck-A-Puck Contest, a figure skating exhibition by the Academy Skating Club and an on-ice Scooter Race by local police and firefighters.
