Book sales set up for this month

To the Editor:

I want to thank the people who helped move the books from my home to the library and those who helped return the unsold books back to my home. You can imagine the task since this involves 80 - 90 10-gallon totes full of books.

As a result of the fall sale, combined with half the proceeds from last year's specialty sales I was able to give each of the two food pantries $182.35 in early November.

This year I will be supporting the Historical Society and the Conservation Trust. To make sure that each of these receives the same amount of money, I have decided to wait until after the fall sale to distribute the money.

My next sales will be in February. Once again I will be doing the specialty sales. In this way, given the unpredictability of our winter weather, a storm would only affect one sale. As was true last year, if the Senior Center is closed because of a storm, the sale will also be closed.

The sales will be held Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, starting on Feb. 7 and ending on March 1. The hours will be: Thursdays and Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sales will be Feb. 7-9 romance, Feb. 14-16 mystery and true crime, Feb. 21-23 espionage, war, horror, and science fiction, and Feb. 28- March 1 general fiction, historical fiction, classics, cook books, diet, and craft books. Once again I am not doing children's books but will save them for Downtown Day weekend.

Again I would like to thank everyone who has supported me through the donation of books and by coming to the sales to purchase books. As always anyone wishing to donate adult paperback fiction, children's books, cookbooks and craft books may leave them at the Senior Center.
