Leger named to D3Kicks team STANDISH, ME - Senior defender Jillian Leger, of Westminster, of the Saint Joseph's College women's soccer team has been named to the D3Kicks.com All-New England Region Second Team. Leger, a two-year team captain, earns the honor after helping St. Joe's post a 16-2- 3 record in 2007, the best in program history. Earlier this year, Leger was named as a GNAC First Team All Conference defender, received GNAC All-Tournament honors and was nominated to the NCAA D III All-New England Region Second Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In addition, Leger was the recipient of the Saint Joseph's College team MVP award following the conclusion of the 2007 season. As a junior Leger earned nominations to the All-Independent Women's Soccer First Team and the D3 Kicks All-New England Second Team and was named to the All-Independent Women's Soccer team her sophomore year. Leger has been a four-year starting Defender and two-year Captain for Head Women's Soccer Coach Michael Bolanz. During her time as a player for St. Joe's the team has amassed a 50-24-4 (.676) record. In her four seasons donning a St. Joe's uniform, Leger played in 71 games, scored two goals with 13 assists for 17 total points and helped the Monks post a total of 35 shutouts. |
