Committee says thanks, announces future plans

To the Editor:

The William J. Bresnahan Scouting & Community Center Committee would like to thank the many people and organizations for their support and donations during the 2007 fundraising campaign. A special thank you goes out to George and Judy Simmons and the Simmons family for hosting Brian's Gift Road Race and their donation of $7,000 to our project. We continue to climb towards our goal of $80,000. We are just over half way there and are about ready to break ground. If interested in supporting our mission donation checks can be made out to: WJB Scouting & Community Center Committee and sent to Ron Skaife, 37 Water Street, Ashburnham, MA 01430.

Upcoming events include a Spaghetti Dinner tommorrow, at the Ashburnham Community Church. Sittings are 5 and 6:30 p.m. Tickets may be purchased through Ron Skaife by calling (978) 827-5722 Walk-ins are welcome. There will also be raffle tickets for Easter prizes; top prize being a large Easter Dinner Basket.

The goal of the William J. Bresnahan Scouting and Community Center Committee is to revitalize the William J. Bresnahan Pool area to provide a place for families to go to relax and enjoy the natural area. Reaching our fundraising goal will to help pay the costs to remove the existing Boy Scout building, restore the natural beauty of the park and construct a Community Center first for use by the Ashburnham Boy and Girl Scouts and secondly for the community.
