Roberta A. (Moulton) Cann, 83
Enjoyed spending time with family and friends

LUNENBURG - Roberta A. (Moulton) Cann, 83, of Lunenburg, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, in HealthAlliance Hospital-Leominster, after being stricken ill.

She was born on Jan. 4, 1925, in South Portland, Maine, the daughter of Carlton and Bertha (York) Pickett and was raised in Maine. She attended school in York Maine and graduated from York High School. She then came to live in Lunenburg 60 years ago, and she later went on to attend Fitchburg State College and received her Bachelor's Degree in elementary education in 1973.

In the years during World War II, she went to work at Western Union to help out with the war effort. She then worked at the former Giadone's Furniture for 10 years. She also worked part time at Sears and five years as a home health aide for Montachusett Home Health Care retiring in 1996.

Roberta had been a very active member of the Senior Center in Lunenburg and enjoyed participating in many of the activities there. One of her favorite things to do there was play scrabble and other word games. She also loved spending a lot of time with her family and friends.

She leaves her three daughters, Lea and her husband, Peter Schuren, of Lunenburg, Jackie Chartier of Westminster, and Jennifer and her husband, Jim Knuuttila, of Lunenburg; five grandchildren, Alyssa and Jay Shuren, Steven Chartier, and Jimmy and Sarah Knuuttila; one great-grandchild, Aiden Chartier; her niece, Amber Noble of Texas; two stepchildren, Beverly Haavisto and Bernard Cann of Leominster; many step-grandchildren; and her close pal, Spike the dog. She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Pickett, her sister, Priscilla Simon, and step-daughter, Frances McKenna. Her husband of 16 years, Frank Cann, died in 1999. Her first husband, Graham Blood, died in 1981.
