Marie L. (Sheppard) Maloney, 95
Taught in Leominster Public School system
LEOMINSTER - Marie L. (Sheppard) Maloney, 95, formerly of Leominster, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in Sterling Healthcare Center.

Born in Kingston, N.Y. on Dec. 23, 1912, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mamie (Carney) Sheppard and lived in Leominster many years. She graduated from New Paltz Normal School in New York and had been a reading teacher for many years in the Leominster. She taught in several schools but mostly at the former Lincoln School in Leominster.

Mrs. Maloney was a member of the Massachusetts Retired Teachers Association and was a former member of the Massachusetts Reading Association.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann Kinsey and her husband, Richard, of Lakeland, Fla. and Patricia Marien and her husband, Thomas, of Westminster; seven grandchildren, Kelly Pederson and her husband, Robert, Jill Hurysz and her husband, Paul, Daniel Kinsey, Kristin Manduca and her husband, Vincent, Sean Meade and his wife, Kira, Sarah Carrier and her husband, Timothy, and Michael Marien and his girlfriend, Melissa Cloutier; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter J. Maloney in 1980. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Mary Meade and her sister, Catherine White.
