Community Notes A Massachusetts Boating Basics Course will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 1, 2, 8, 9 and 15, at the Ashburnham Senior Center, 12 Memorial Drive. Boat Massachusetts is offered to the pubic at no charge. The primary purpose is to foster safe boat operation through increased awareness of required safety equipment, safe boating practices, and legal responsibilities. All five classes required. Rotary Club to hold award evening The Ashburnham-Westminster Rotary Club plans to hold its Second Annual Vocational Award event at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at Wachusett Village Inn, 8 Village Inn Road, Westminster. This event is designed to recognize municipal employees for their skills and efforts in the workplace and the community. The Rotary will be presenting an award to one employee from Westminster - Sue Chapman, one from Ashburnham - Steve Nims, and one from the regional school district - Sherry Kersey. The Rotary will engrave the name of the recipients on a plaque located at each town hall. Westminster Council on Aging announces events The Westminster Council on Aging, located at the American Legion Hall, 127 Main St., Westminster, offers the following events in April. A Blood Pressure Clinic will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, April 3. The Senior Series Breakfast will be held on Friday, April 4. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m., followed by "Act the Pharmacist" at 8:30 a.m. with Joe Serio, pharmacist, of the Westminster Pharmacy. On April 30, a Volunteer Recognition Dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McNally's Grille & Pub, 88 Sargent Road, Westminster. For more information, call (978) 874-7402. |
