Richard promoted by LCU

Leominster Credit Union recently promoted Gilles J. Richard to vice president and recovery manager, after 28 years with the company.

Richard will oversee a staff of four professionals monitoring LCU's loan quality and lending activity, during his tenor at the company he has served in many different capacities in LCU's loan division.

"This appointment is in recognition of the outstanding work Gil has done for our members and the credit union for nearly three decades," said LCU President and CEO Gordon R. Edmonds. "We strive to provide superior member service and convenience. Gil and his team work everyday to accomplish that."

Originally from Canada, Richard's family relocated to Gardner when he was young. He graduated from Gardner High School before entering the armed services. He joined the LCU team in 1980.

Now he and his wife, Anna, reside in Westminster. They are the parents of Amy, an art teacher in the Fitchburg public school system, and Marc, a junior at Framingham State College.

"Unlike many financial institutions, as a community credit union we're able to work more closely with a member who might experience temporary financial difficulties," Richard said. "We can offer alternative workout plans that really benefit the member while protecting the interest of the credit union."
