Oakmont Regional High School recently signed a contract with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions, a nationwide test preparation service, to provide students with SAT preparation courses at significantly reduced prices. Oakmont students will receive a $400 discount, therefore limiting the cost of a classroom course to $599.

Kaplan, which also provides private tutoring and online programs, will set different prices for those alternative programs.

Additionally, scholarships will be available for qualifying students on a limited basis. The agreement is part of the nationwide Kaplan at School partnership program, which brings Kaplan's college prep services directly to schools across the country.

Kaplan offers preparation for more than 90 standardized tests, including entrance exams for secondary school, college and graduate school, as well as English language and professional licensing exams.

"Success on the SAT is a critical requirement for many colleges and universities," said Oakmont principal David Uminski. "We want to offer our students every advantage when it comes to competing for admission to the colleges and universities of their choice."
