Monty Tech students capture medals

FITCHBURG - Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical students captured a total of 34 medals, along with a state officer candidacy, at the SkillsUSA -Massachusetts District Conference held recently in Lowell.

Five local students won medals including: Jeese Goodnow, of Westminster, won the silver in cabinetmaking; Sarah Bailey, of Westminster, won the silver in Cosmetology - over 500 hrs.; Jennifer Brennan, of Ashburnham, won the gold medal in nursing assisting; Matthew Barber, of Westminster, won the gold in power equipment technology and Ryan Boudreau, of Ashburnham, won the gold in technical drafting.

Each of these competitors has qualified to go on the annual SkillsUSA-Massachusetts State Championship in May in Marlboro.
