Taylor no longer running for School Committee
By Caitlyn Kelleher JOURNAL REPORTER

William C. "Bud" Taylor II withdrew from the race for a seat on the Ashburnham Westminster Regional School Committee in time to have his name removed from the ballot.

Taylor would have been one of three people seeking a position in one of two seats represent Westminster on the Regional School Committee. Newcomer Joshua Schonborg and incumbent Leonard Beaton are still seeking election for a three-year term.

In a letter submitted to Westminster Town Clerk Denise MacAloney Taylor wrote, "I am not a candidate for that position."

Taylor submitted his nomination papers with more than the required 40 signatures to the Superintendent of Schools Office before the March 7 deadline.

As the process then requires, Taylor's signatures were certified by the town clerks in each Westminster and Ashburnham.

Taylor's name will be removed from the Ashburnham ballot as well, because candidates for the Regional School Committee must be elected by a majority of voters in both towns, so each candidate appears on both ballots.

The each town has five representatives on the School Committee.

Westminster incumbent Jody Tata is not seeking re-election this spring.

Both Ashburnham incumbents, David Christianson and Ellen Holmes, are seeking re-election for their seats. Both of those are three-year terms.
