Who let the dogs out? Dog Day Afternoon, a fund-raiser to help Winchendon's Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue build its animal  shelter, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Best Western Royal Plaza Trade Center, 150 Royal Plaza Dr., Fitchburg. Featuring Ask the Trainer, nail clipping, massage or Reiki, and pet photography for dogs, acoustic music, raffles and refreshments. Tickets are $15 (children under 12 free). YMCA Healthy Kids Day will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the the Montachusett Regional YMCA, 55 Wallace Ave., Fitchburg. Celebrate Spring at the Boulder Coffeehouse beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Church of Fitchburg, 923 Main St. Enjoy an hour of open mike performers, followed by the folk ensemble "Work in Progress." The ensemble plays an eclectic mix of fiddle tunes, bluegrass, old standards, and original compositions. An assortment of baked goods, teas, and coffee will be available.
