New business coming to business park

MacLeathe Preservation Group, LLC, bought an approximately six-acre lot in Westminster Business Park to develop a disaster recovery center at the park.

The company's goal is to support institutes of higher education and other data intensive businesses to secure their data and guarantee the continuation of business in the event of a natural or manmade disaster, according to a press release.

MacLeathe, plans to begin construction in May, on a two-story, secure facility of approximately 3,200 square feet that is designed with the ability to expand to 30,000 feet and could employ up to twenty people

"Westminster is an ideal location some 50 miles outside Boston. Its relatively high elevation meets the minimum requirements for disaster recovery and makes wireless back-up operations more feasible," according to James MacDonald, a principal of MacLeathe, in the press release.

Westminster Business Park is an over 250 acre industrial/business office park located at Depot Road and Route 2A in Westminster.

"MacLeathe will be ready for any kind of eventuality and will be totally self-sustaining. The availability of highly skilled local talent and a high quality living conditions provided the ideal mix as we contemplated recruiting a talented workforce. We were also impressed with the pro-business attitude of the Town officials and became convinced that they would help rather than hinder our development," MacDonald said.

"MacLeathe is exactly the kind of user we desire for Westminster Business Park. They are technology oriented and will make good use of the highly skilled local workforce. Their coming on board in Westminster Business Park will also help jump start the site and attract more business to it," said Dave Pogorelc, an owner of the park, in the press release.
