Providing a helping hand

The students in the Helping Hand SWAP class presented the Lee family including 11-year-old Rachel more than $1,900 that they raised as part of a donation to the Community Benefit Hockey Game. The group of students that meets every Friday afternoon during the School Wide Activity Period, had hoped to raise $600 which would represent $1 per student at the school.

The students discussed financial impacts on the Lee family as they have to deal with the medical treatments, including the high price of gas going to and from the hospital, of treating Rachel's brain tumor.
