Grace (Patient) Payne, 95 WESTMINSTER - Grace (Patient) Payne, 95, of 59 Eastwood Circle, Gardner, former long-time resident of Fitchburg and Westminster, died Saturday, April 5, 2008, in the Leo P. LaChance Center. Grace was born in Fitchburg on Dec 8, 1912, the daughter of Joseph and Albertine (Petit) Patient. She attended St. Joseph Elementary School and Fitchburg High School. She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Westminster and of St. Joseph Parish in Fitchburg, where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. She had been a member of the Council on Aging. Grace had been a foster mother for 12 years for Children's Aid and Family Services. Before retiring she had worked for the former Dupont-DeNamour Co. and had worked at the Old Mill Restaurant in Westminster for 12 years. She leaves two daughters, June Sims of De Funiak Springs, Fla. and Norma Clemons of Casa Grande, Ariz.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Stella Boucher and a brother, Joseph Patient. Mrs. Payne's husband, Norman, died in 1984. Aubuchon-Moorcroft Funeral Home, directed arrangements. |
