Lived in Leominster many years; was avid reader

WESTMINTER - Elizabeth A. (Bernard) McGee LaPlume, 81, of 168 Minott Road, formerly of 98 Mooreland Ave., Leominster, died Friday, April 4, 2008, in UMass Memorial Medical Center-University Campus, Worcester.

She was born in Leominster on June 21, 1926, the daughter of Nelson and Hazel (Jenness) Bernard, and had lived in Leominster until moving to Westminster one year ago.

Mrs. LaPlume worked for several years at the former Selig Manufacturing, and then at Eusey Press, before retiring in 1991. She was an avid reader.

She is survived by three sons, Joseph McGee and his wife, Denise, of Belle Plaine, Minn., Albert McGee and his wife, Ann, of Westminster, and Kevin McGee and his wife, Judith, of Leominster; one daughter, Lisa Walsh and her husband, Brian of Leominster; five grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur LaPlume; two brothers, George Bernard and Paul Bernard and three sisters, Addie Gonsalves, Dorothy LeBlanc and Laura LeBlanc.
