A note to Westminster voters, library users To the Editor: On behalf of the staff of the Forbush Memorial Library, this is a sincere "thank you" to Westminster voters for voting in favor of the Library renovations. It will be wonderful to have all of the problems repaired at the same time. Our temporary location will be at 100 Simplex Drive, Westminster, MA 01473. We will be in what many locals know as the cafeteria area of what was the Digital/Simplex complex. To prepare for the move, the Forbush Memorial Library will be closed to the public as of Monday, April 14. The actual move will take place the week of April 28, with the Library reopening on Simplex Drive in early May, at a date to be determined. Our last open day at the Main Street location will be Saturday, April 12. This is also what we would like our library users to know: • For students who are dropped off on the late bus, access to the Library will not be available while we are closed. Parents, please make arrangements for your children. • Library books and audio/visual materials will be accepted into the Forbush book drop through Saturday, April 26. • After April 26, all Westminster library materials should be returned to other libraries (e.g. Gardner, Leominster or Fitchburg) until we reopen or could be held until we do reopen in May, and then returned at our temporary location. Overdue fines will not be charged for anything that came due while we were closed. The Library staff will not be receiving or sending out holds during the period we are closed (April 14 until some time in May). We ask our Library users to please change their pick-up location to another CWMARS library (e.g. Gardner, Leominster or Fitchburg) as soon as possible. Holds not picked up by Saturday, April 12, at 2 p.m. will be either forwarded to the new pick-up location the user has designated or returned to the "home" library. For questions or help with any of the above, please call us at (978) 874-7416. Thank you for your patience during this time, and thank you again for your support and generosity. Margaret Howe-Soper, Director Forbush Memorial Library |
