On Thursday, April 17, the entire Cushing community participated in what has become an annual tradition of Tony Fisher Day of Service to Others.

Volunteering as far as New York City and as near as Ashburnham and Gardner, students and faculty used this day to beautify state parks, playgrounds and ball fields and assist at food banks.

Tony Fisher, a well-known philanthropist, a Cushing Trustee and a member of the Academy's Class of 1969, and members of his family died in a plane crash Fitchburg while en route to Cushing in April 2003. In his honor, Cushing students and faculty now dedicate one day of service each year to the local community and beyond.
