Historical Society to feature places in Westminster

The Westminster Historical Society is extending the deadline for its Photo Contest until October 31, 2008. The Society's goal is to produce a series of postcards of the town, and the members are looking for photos of places in Westminster appropriate to be featured on a postcard. The winners will be announced in November. Postcards will be made from the contest winners, and each will have names of photographers identified. The photo can be anything of interest (a historic building, a beautiful view or anything unique to Westminster) that is appropriate for a postcard.

Each contestant can only submit three photos, and each must be of a Westminster location, at any point in history. The photos and a digital form of the photo (minimum of 300 dpi) must be submitted to the Historical Society, and will become the property of the Society's collection.

Each photo must be accompanied by a statement of the photographer's name, address, and telephone number, and location and subject of photo. The photos are to be submitted by Oct. 31, 2008, to the Westminster Historical Society, 110 Main St., POB 177, Westminster, MA 01473.
