Michael Arsenault
Celebration of Life Service

ASHBURNHAM - A celebration of the life of Michael Arsenault will be held Friday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at Ashburnham Community Church, 9 Chapel St, Ashburnham. The service will pay tribute to Michael's contributions and accomplishments and provide an opportunity for family and friends to share stories. A reception will immediately follow downstairs in the Community Center.

Born in Gardner on April 26, 1955, he was the son of Joseph E. Arsenault of Baldwinville and Sarasota, Fla., and Lorraine M. (Cormier) Arsenault of Gardner. Michael was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Fitchburg for 30 years. He graduated in 1973 from Gardner High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Bridgewater State College in 1977. During his junior year there, he was recognized as an All-American and selected to the Bridgewater State College Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in swimming.

During his childhood, Michael was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Gardner. As an adult Michael was a member of the Ashburnham Community Church. He enjoyed swimming, boating, volleyball, water skiing, and playing softball.

Aside from his parents, Michael leaves one daughter, Taylor Rae Arsenault of Ashburnham; one sister, Gail E. Montville of Gardner; his stepmother, Elinor H. (Cloutier) Arsenault of Baldwinville and Sarasota, Fla.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas A. Arsenault, who died in 2003.
