Oakmont Spartans' tennis scores

Oakmont Girls' Tennis team played at Bromfield in Hardward on Friday, May 2, and took the match with a 3-2 win.

In the team's three singles matches Jacqui Holmes, of Bromfield, defeated Oakmont's Kelsey Imig 6-0, 1-0 (because that game was partially rained out); Caroline Korsluedt, of Bromfield, defeated Stephanie Nebes, of Oakmont, 6-1, 6-0; and Joanna Gustafson, of Oakmont, defeated Rhett Nuenighoff, of Bromfield, 6-1, 6-0.

The Oakmont girls defeated their Bromfield opponents in both doubles matches. Gretchen Carlson and Hannah Ulshen defeated Alexa Denner and Sam Leahy 7-5, 6-4, while Elizabeth Brannon and Jen Carroll, of Oakmont, defeated Danielle Shea and Eva Kenna 6-2, 6-4.

The team took on Littleton on Wednesday, April 30, winning 4-1 on their home court.

In the singles matches Imig defeated Erin Freeman, of Littleton, 6-4, 7-6 (7- 3); Danielle Recco, of Littleton, defeated Nebes, 6-4, 6-4; and Gustafson defeated Meg Lapin, of Littleton, 6-0, 6-0.

During doubles play Carlson and Ulshen, of Oakmont, defeated Susie Blair and Hannah Teporoff, of Littleton, 6-0, 6-0; and Brannon and Sally Ledger, of Oakmont, defeated Caitlyn Angela Miller and Katy Davis, of Littleton, 6- 0, 6-0.

The Oakmont Boys' Tennis team won their match against Lunenburg 5- 0 on Monday, May 5, on their home court.

In singles, Oakmont's Tom Palmer defeated Ross Breen, of Lunenburg, 6-0, 6-1; Zackary Hathaway defeated Mark Knutson 6-1, 6-0; and Sawyer Mahoney defeated Allen Butler 6-2, 6-3.

In the doubles matches, Karl Wing and Ken Murphy defeated John Holllows and Brittney Raboin 6-0, 6-1, as Dillon Kendall and Andrew Richard defeated Jayme Giancola and Sam Lento 6-4, 6-1.

The team won a close match against Fitchburg, on Wednesday, April 30, in the Raiders' citys.

The Spartans won the match 3-2.

In singles competition, Jeff Coseriza, of Fitchburg, defeated Palmer, of Oakmont, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4; Hathaway, of Oakmont, defeated Josh Belli, of Fitchburg, 2-6, 7-6(7-4), 7-6 (7-5); and Mahoney, of Oakmont, defeated Josh Desire, of Fitchburg, 6-1, 6-0.

In doubles play, Ryan LeBlanc and Derrick Kwan, of Fitchburg, defeated Wing and Richard, of Oakmont, 6-4, 6-1; and Kendall and Kendall, of Oakmont, defeated Matt Staychoff and Zong Xiang, of Fitchburg, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.
