Annikki (Kapiainen) Ala-Nisula, 86
Was an accomplished seamstress; loved gardening

WESTMINSTER - Annikki (Kapiainen) Ala-Nisula, 86, of 5 Meeting House Road, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Henry Heywood Memorial Hospital, Gardner.

She was born in Lemi, Finland on Nov. 27, 1921, and lived in the Westminster and Ashburnham area for many years. She summered many years on Cape Cod and after retirement lived in Brewster for many years until moving back to Westminster 15 years ago.

Annikki eaves her son, Esko Ala-Nisula and his wife, Peggy, of Westminster; her daughter, Mai Ala-Nisula of Brookline, N.H.; and her granddaughter, Anna-Liisa Ala- Nisula of Fitchburg. Her husband of 40 years, Erkki Ala-Nisula, died on Jan. 28, 1985. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Pentti, Paavo and Joukko Kapiainen and one sister, Astrid Liimatainen.

Annikki loved gardening, and was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed weaving, sewing, knitting and was a bingo lover.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210. Bosk Funeral Home directed arrangements.
