Mom urges people to support Briggs study Dear Ashburnham residents, The good news is that our Briggs Elementary School is in the top 12 percent of schools across the state according to the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority). The reality is that we top the list of schools most in need of repair. On June 17, we'll be asked to vote to fund a feasibility study for Briggs. Some of you may know all of the details, but others around town seem unaware of the urgency of this issue. If we, as a community, fail to act now to partner with the MSBA for this study, we could lose the opportunity to receive more than 53 percent reimbursement toward the renovation of this town property.
It's going to be a full ballot on June 17. It seems there's never a lack of people asking for help. I'll admit, I'm one of them. I'm a stay-at-home mom with two kids and a member of the Briggs Building Committee. I do care how this vote goes, and I'm asking you to please support this study. I'm also asking you to urge your friends to do the same. There's a lot of information, and you'll be seeing more and more as the election comes closer. Feel free to email me with any questions about what it would mean for your family: cmhand17@comcast.net. I would give out my phone number, but with two preschoolers, phone conversations are virtually impossible. Please get out and vote yes for funding the J.R. Briggs Feasibility Study. |
