8 The Whisker Walk to benefit homeless pets will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Lancaster Fairground, Route 117, Lancaster. 10 TUESDAY The Westminster Historical Society will host a Juhannus program for the public at 7 p.m. at the Westminster Farmers Cooperative Association building, Leominster Street, Westminster. This program will commemorate the Finnish celebration of St. John's Day, also recognized as the longest day of the year and the beginning of summer. Festivities include exhibits related to the sauna, music, storytelling, demonstrations, and refreshments.
12 THURSDAY The Leominster Public Library, in partnership with the Fitchburg State College Center for Italian Culture, will host an Italian Conversational Circle for adults beginning today through July 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the library, 30 West St. For those who have a basic speaking knowledge of the Italian language.
