Spring Season Closers

The Spartans baseball team ended their season on May 29 after loosing their first playoff game to St. Berndard's High School. Oakmont was seeded ninth in the district after ending their regular season with a 12-8 record. FILE PHOTO Members of the Oakmont co-ed outdoor track team ended their season of competition at Fitchburg State College on Wednesday, May 28. Senior Alan Mann placed third in the boys' 400 Meter Run, while fellow senior Chris Streeks placed seventh. Others that were racing in the events at the District Finals were sophomore Mikaela Harding in the girls' 400 meter run, Linsey Laserte in the girls' two mile, Katherine Lampa in the girls' 100 meter hurdles, Dan O'Connell in the boys' 200 meter dash, Brett Haschig boys' 800 meter run, Chris Greenlee in the boys' one mile run, Seth Sherridan and Cody Brown in the boys' 100 meter dash, Mike Lashua in the boys' 110 meter hurdles, and Brett Haschig in the boys' 800 meter run. In the field events, Alyssa Christianson placed fifth in the girls' discus throw and also in placing fifth was Haschig in the boys' pole vault and Dan Blanchard in the boys' shot put. Cody Brown, Seth Sherridan and Jacob Allen competed in the boys' long jump and Alan Man competed in the boys' triple jump. The boys' and girls' lacrosse teams finished their first season as a club sport this year. Parents and students are looking for the teams to compete on the varsity level next spring. The Oakmont Boys' Tennis Team end their season with an 8-2 record and a fourth place ranking in the district. The team lost in their first round of district playoffs to Quabog.
