A fixer upper

The Ashburnham Historical Society hosts "Old House Restoration: How To Do It The Right Way" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the society meetinghouse, 79 Main St., Ashburnham. Join James Whidden (woodwright) and Mat Cummings (architect) for a virtual walk through a house they recently restored in Ipswich, Mass., the ca. 1747 Day- Dodge House. They will discuss historical documentation, budget, permits, and the design and restoration process including how to incorporate modern lifestyles into older buildings. They will answer questions about houses of any age. Free. The event will be followed by a meeting of the society's members.
