Saisa hired as Overlook principal

Ashburnham-Wesmtinster Regional Superintendent of Schools Michael Zapanits announced Wednesday that he his hired Phillip Saisa as the new principal of Overlook Middle School.

Saisa is the the assistant principal at Quaboag Middle-High School.

He will be replacing Brenda Houle, who announced ealier this spring that she was leaving to return to the East Longmeadow School District.

Houle came to the school district two years ago when Michael Sunderland retired.

Zapantis said he thought that Saisa and Overlook would make a good fit together.

"He has worked closely there with the principal even though he was the assistant principal," Zapantis said.

In his interview Saisa came across as "very student orientated" said Zapantis. He said this was one of the qualities that makes Saisa the right fit at this time for Overlook.

"He has demonstrated some very large leadership skills," Zapantis said.

Saisa still has to finish out his job at Quaboag, but will start working at Overlook sometime this summer.

Other details of his contract are still be worked out, Zapantis said.
