Ryan Patrick Jones "Heart of a Hero" Foundation honors area students

Kevin and Elaine Jones, parents of First Lt. Ryan Patrick Jones, who was killed in Iraq on May 2, 2007, are proud to announce that the Ryan Patrick Jones "Heart of a Hero" Foundation was able to give out 13 scholarships this year totaling $7,000 to area students. This year's recipients are: James Gibbs, of Sterling, receiving the Foundation Academic Award; Amber McCassie, of Royalston, receiving the ROTC Award; Tiffany Bartlett, of Leominster, receiving the ROTC Award; Sarah Bailey, of Westminster, receiving the Foundation Music Award and the Westminster Resident Music Award; Elizabeth Dunkel, of Fitchburg, receiving the Art Scholarship; LeAnn Degrace, of Winchendon, receiving the Art Award; Brittany Warren, of Royalston, receiving the Journalism Award; Scott Robinson, of Hubbardston, receiving the Heart of a Hero Athletic Award; David Tuero, of Fitchburg, receiving the Heart of a Hero ROTC Award; Justine Popik, of Westminster, receiving the Holy Spirit Parish Post Graduate Award and the Westminster Resident Music Scholarship Award; Kathryn Wirzbicki, of Gardner, receiving the Holy Spirit Parish Academic Scholarship; Joshua Horgan, of Hubbardston, receiving the Holy Spirit Parish Post Graduate Scholarship; and Corrine Murray, of Hubbardston, receiving the Career Pursuit Scholarship.
