Westminster 2009 calendars on sale

The 2009 calendar by the Westminster Historical Society is now on sale. Entitled "Westminster Celebrates!" it is the official calendar for the town of Westminster's anniversary year and is in full color for the first time. The calendar lists in red all the anniversary events planned for the year. Also featured are the Ashburnham-Westminster School District school holidays and early release days, as well as fairs and special events of churches and organizations. On the back are telephone numbers of all town departments and organization contacts.

The calendar features photos of town celebrations in years past, including the 150th and 200th and 125th anniversaries of the town of Westminster, as well as the 150th anniversary of the first house in Westminster in 1737 and Westminster's celebration of the Massachusetts Tercentenary in 1930.

Twelve businesses helped sponsor this year's calendar. Calendars are $15 each and supplies are limited. Look for them at Vincent's Country Store, Country Treasures Gift Shop, the Forbush Library, Westminster Garage, the Elementary School, the Town Hall and at the Historical Society.

Proceeds will benefit the operations of the Historical Society in collecting and preserving Westminster's history.
