Library has many events as it reopens on Main Street To the Editor: The Forbush Memorial Library reopened on April 1, at the Main Street location, one year to the day after generous Westminster taxpayers voted the money to renovate the exterior of the building. We are delighted to be "home" again and look forward to seeing many of our regular library users again. Visit our new Web site at www.forbushlibrary. org for updates on hours and programs. We have two programs planned for April and invite you to call us for information. The week of April 13-18 is National Library Week. To celebrate and to honor the Town's 250th Anniversary, local history meets fine art in Professor Wayne Hazen's discussion of his new book, "An Illustrated Version of Mary Rowlandson's 1682 Memoir." Westminster locals remember Mrs. Rowlandson in connection with our own Redemption Rock off Rt. 140. Professor Hazen will show his work, and his book will be available for sale and signing. The program will take place on Wednesday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m. in Forbush's Eloranta Room. Professor Hazen is an artist and teacher whose work has been shown throughout the United States. He is currently a member of the fine arts faculty at Atlantic Union College in Lancaster. In this program, he will show some of the 400+ pen and ink drawings he produced in telling Mary Rowlandson's story, and will discuss what he learned about her in the process. The program is open to all but registration is required because of limited space. Call the Library at (978) 874- 7416 to register. The Mystery Book Club will meet Thursday, April 23, at 2 p.m. The book selection this month is "A Trouble of Fools" by Linda Barnes. Call us to reserve a book. Thank you again for your generosity and patronage. Margaret Howe-Soper Forbush Memorial Library Director |
