Janet H. (Batchelder) Nasis, 78
Family was most important; loved dancing
She was born on Feb. 9, 1931, in Woodsville, N.H., the daughter of the late Alfred and Marion (Shearer) Batchelder. Mrs. Nasis was raised in Vermont and moved to the Fitchburg area in 1955. She was the owner of the former Nail Touch by Jan, retiring in 1997. Mrs. Nasis loved all styles of dancing, especially country line dancing, and for some time was a ballroom dancing instructor. She gave of herself in many ways, including volunteer work at the Center for Brain Injured Children, as a councilor/nutritionist at the Diet Center, and as a home care provider for Diversified Home Services. Her family was the most important part of her life. Mrs. Nasis had a gift of making holidays and birthdays special for everyone. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She loved her shelties, talking, and shopping. Mrs. Nasis leaves her husband of 38 years, Anthony Nasis; two sons, Rob Moeckel and his wife, Christina, of Lunenburg, and Timothy Moeckel and his wife, Deborah, of Westminster; two daughters, Holly Carlson and her husband, Richard, of St. George, Maine, and Lisa Cote and her husband, Brian, of Fitchburg; nine grandchildren, Amanda Moeckel Chance of San Francisco, Calif., Crystal (Carlson) Drinkwater of Mississippi, Matthew Moeckel of Portsmouth, N.H., Sean Carlson of St. George, Maine, Nathan Cote and Tyler Cote of Fitchburg, Alivia Moeckel, Adam Moeckel, and Jarrod Moeckel all of Westminster; two sisters, Geraldine Hodge of Fairlee, Vt., and Mary Sheehan and her husband, Daniel, of South Carolina; one brother, Harry Lutz and his wife, Lou, of Kittery, Maine. Funeral services are private under the direction of Brandon Funeral Home. |
