Ice Storm anniversary event in the works

Plans are underway to commemorate the anniversary of the Ice Storm of 2008 with an evening of shared photos, stories and discussions at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Forbush Memorial Library, Main Street, Westminster.

Organizers hope to capture the sense of community and what people learned about modern lifestyles, interdependence and conservation during the aftermath of an incredible natural disaster. People interested in contributing are asked to send their photos to Heather Billings at hmbillings@yahoo.com or drop the photos off at the library front desk for a slide show organizers will presented that evening. (Photos will be returned.) Those interested can also send or drop off written memories, stories or thoughts ahead of time. The group plans to compile a selection of photos and stories for publication.
