Cell Phones for Soldiers drive underway at MWCC
      More than 150,000 troops are serving overseas and are away from their families, so Cell Phones for Soldiers and Mount Wachusett Community College are calling on Americans to support these brave men and women by donating their unused cell phones.

Program to commemorate 2008 Ice Storm
      With the first anniversary of that incredible event around the corner, the Forbush Library in Westminster and Central Massachusetts Sustainable Communities hope to focus attention on its ongoing impact by asking area residents to submit photos and stories for an evening of sharing and discussion to be held at the library on Thursday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m.

Wreaths Across America honoring those who serve
      WINCHENDON — Members from Wreaths Across America will be adorning the graves at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenn Allen Road, at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 11. The public is invited to come and help be part of this program. On Dec. 11 at noon, a ceremony will be held, including the laying of a wreath for each branch of service and a wreath in remembrance of POWs.
