Kindergarten registration, orientation scheduled

The Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District is holding registration for Kindergarten 2010-2011 for all Ashburnham and Westminster students who will be five years old by August 31, 2010.

In Westminster, a four-part Kindergarten Orientation Program for students and their parents will be held in the spring. The first session, on Wednesday, March 3, and will include a presentation on the kindergarten curriculum for parents only. Incoming kindergarten students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend the remaining sessions on Tuesdays, April 6, May 4 and June 1. Enrollment and information packets will be mailed to parents/guardians of incoming kindergarten students in the end of February. In Ashburnham, the Kindergarten Orientation Program is planned for April. Registration packets may be picked up at the Briggs Elementary School Office on school days between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Parents/guardians of children who will be entering kindergarten this fall are encouraged to call the Briggs Elementary School office at (978) 827-5750 or (978) 827-1420 to assure that their child is included on the list of incoming kindergarten students.

The kindergarten orientation at Briggs Elementary School will be held on Tuesday, April 27.

Parents/guardians of children in Ashburnham or Westminster may call the Special Education Office (978) 827-3062 to make a separate appointment for any three- or four-year old they feel may have a disability.
