George H. Roy, 78
Was an enthusiastic outdoorsman; self-employed plasterer
WESTMINSTER — George H. Roy, 78 of Orange, former long-time resident of Westminster, died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, unexpectedly at his home. He was born in Fitchburg on Feb. 9, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Regina (Massee) Roy. Mr. Roy was a self-employed master plasterer in this area for many years. He was a member of the Orange Lodge of Elks. He was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and loved his dog, “Lady’. Mr. Roy was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy. He leaves one son, George L. Roy of Oxford; three daughters, Regina M. Roy of Hawaii, Victoria R. ‘Vicky’ Bourque and her husband, James, of Leominster, and Rebecca A. Anderson, and her husband, Donald, of Ashby; three sisters, Silvia Dube of Gardner, Gloria Boudreau of Fitchburg, and Pauline Wirtanen of Ashburnham; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by nine brothers. His wife of 35 years, Mary A. (Aragona) Roy, died in 1995.
